Meet Dr. Eva J. Allen

There has never been a more critical time to engage in difficult conversations around equity and social justice. But, we have to go beyond the conversation and apply it to actionable practices.  That is where I can support you, your organization, and your stakeholders. My background in diversity, culture, and equity is a result of working in culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse settings for over two decades, and from my experiences as a mother of multi-racial children. I have served in the role of a teacher, administrator, district specialist, and transformational leader across multiple instructional and institutional levels in urban education.

Through my lived experiences, both in and out of the classroom, I recognize the challenges of and need to develop cultural competencies, the significance of culturally relevant pedagogy, and the importance of relationships based on trust, care, and respect. These factors play a critical role and influence social and academic outcomes in education as well as the private sector. My experiential knowledge and beliefs are reflected in my successful career in urban education, in my published research that focused on cultural care and equity, and evident in the outcomes of the collective efforts of my work.  I am honored to be a part of the process of building collective efficacy, social-emotional competencies, and transformational growth.
